The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on July 21, 2014.

Supervisor Jeff Propps was not present.

Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.

Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved as read.

The Treasurer’s report was read and approved as read.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read the following reports. Dillsburg EMS responded to 119 calls for the month of June, 1 call was in Washington Township. Franklintown Fire Company responded to 24 calls for the month with 2 in the township. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 19 calls in June with 4 in the township. East Berlin Fire Company did not provide a report for the month.

Subdivision Plans:

Resident Justin Ferree of 128 Myers Rd, questioned comments from the Planning Commission Meeting regarding his proposed Subdivision lines and not the required 3 acres. After a brief discussion, Solicitor Sharon Myers explained that Section 418, b #2, would allow his subdivision as proposed because all lots existed prior to zoning. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. informed him his plans must state there are no building rights remaining and the filing fee must be paid.

Business from the Floor:

Resident John Peters wanted to thank Supervisor Jeff Propps for the letter to get his trees preserved when the new bridge is installed on Bermudian Church Rd. He also asked the Supervisors to request the bridge be called “Context Sensitive” so they use nicer blocks. He questioned all the marker stakes and flags that the engineers put on his property. The Supervisors did not recommend removing them until he checks with someone because they may be in the right-of way.

Resident Gerald Myers of 563 Kralltown Rd asked if the corner on Kralltown Rd before Pine Woods Rd could be widened, due to the volume of tractor trailers and farm equipment. Resident Tim Parrill also of Kralltown Rd asked if the speed limit could be lowered in the same area. Several other residents comment on the speed of traffic on Kralltown Rd. The Supervisors will request a traffic study be done by York County on Kralltown Rd from Myers Rd to the Wellsville Rd.

Resident Wallace Fremont commented on possible bear evidence in the area.

Old Business:

There was no old business to discuss.

New Business:

Fall Clean-up date is scheduled for Wednesday & Thursday, October 1 & 2 from 8:00-3:30.

Solicitor’s Report:

Solicitor Sharon Myers had nothing additional to add other than what ever the Traffic Study findings are for Kralltown Rd, that she recommends the Township follow their suggestions do to legal issues.

Supervisor Dan McGregor made a motion to pay the bills out of the General Funds Account totaling $ 2,715.23 and the State Account totaling $ 14,182.29. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:18 P.M. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.
