The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on June 18, 2012.

Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.

Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved as read.

The Treasurer’s report was read and approved as read.

Traci Cook, EMS Chief for Dillsburg read the report for May with 122 calls total with 2 in Washington Township. She also informed everyone on changes to patient refusal and charges that will be applied. Supervisor Dan McGregor read the report for Franklintown Fire Company. They responded to 29 calls for the month of May with 2 calls in Washington Township. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 9 calls for the month with 1 in the township. There was no report from East Berlin Fire Company.

Subdivision Plans:

There were no plans presented.

Business from the Floor:

Resident Caroll Myers asked the cost of road signs and if a program could be established where residents could pay for a sign. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. said that the township will pay for signs as they are needed. He informed Ginny Boden that the arrows were installed on Bermudian Church Rd.

Old Business:

Supervisor Jeff Propps reported that York County Planning Commission will consider the updates for the township’s zoning ordinances at their July 3rd meeting. At that time they will vote to pass or suggest changes on the updated ordinances. Jeff is now working on the SALDO updates.

Solicitor Sharon Myers presented the updated copy of the stand alone Stormwater Management Ordinance 2012-02. She has advertised the ordinance. She asked Supervisor Propps if Byron Trout, from Gordon Brown’s office contacted him. He has questions for him pertaining to this ordinance. She informed the Supervisors that a lot of the township’s engineers are adding their own requirements to their own township’s ordinance. Supervisor Dan McGregor made a motion to table this until next month’s meeting so the Supervisors have time to review the Ordinance and talk to Byron Trout. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

New Business:

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. presented phone bids for line painting from Alpha Space Control Co., D.E. Gemmill, and Interstate Road Management. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to award the bid to Interstate Road Management for $14, 652.00. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

The Supervisors discussed the tax assessment information from Mountain Ridge Church asking for forgiveness for their 2012 higher tax assessment. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to accept the new assessment of $90,560.00 and have the secretary send them a letter. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

Solicitor’s Report:

Attorney Sharon Myers added when the Stormwater Management Ordinance is passed, a Fee Schedule will need to be established and passed by a resolution. She presented Resolution 2012-02, Adding Land to ASA for Charles and Margaret Eichelberger, 268 Kralltown Rd, Dillsburg, parcel MC -35. Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to adopt the resolution and Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion. Also she discussed Act 13 and how it pertains to municipalities that have natural gas lines.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to pay the bills as presented. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:07 P.M. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.
