Board of Supervisor’s Meeting Minutes for Monday, July 15, 2013

The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on July 15, 2013

All Supervisors were present.

Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.

Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved as read.

The Treasurer’s report was read and approved as read.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read the following reports. Dillsburg EMS responded to 135 calls for the month of June with 6 in Washington Township. Franklintown Fire Company responded to 29 calls for the month with 1 in the township. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 20 calls total for the month with 1 in the township. There was no report from East Berlin Fire Company.

Subdivision Plans:

There were no plans presented for the month.

Business from the Floor:

Resident Susanne Sardino of 2138 Baltimore Pike inquired about a residential subdivision. The Supervisors advised her to attend the next Planning Commission Meeting with information and a sketch of what she wants to do.

Resident Earl Hoover attending the meeting suggested a min-split for the meeting room, so residents could hear because of the loud air conditioner. The Supervisors are already looking into the matter but a mini-split will not work in this old building. Resident Ginny Boden also suggested the Supervisors maybe use a microphone for meetings.

Resident Caroll Myers informed the Supervisors of a large hole on Peiffer Rd that ground hogs are using. They will check it out.

Old Business:

Supervisor Jeff Propps reported that he is almost finished with the updates to the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinances. He is waiting for more comments from the other Supervisors on the updated Zoning Ordinances.

 

New Business:

Supervisors set the dates for the Fall Clean-up for Wednesday & Thursday, October 2 & 3 from 8:00-3:30.

The Supervisors agreed to participate in York County’s Festival of Lights at Rocky Ridge Park. There is no charge to the township and coupons will be available for residents.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. reported they are using the new tractor/mower and will now pay the bill.

Solicitor’s Report:

Solicitor Leann Miller substituted for Sharon Myers, who was away. She reported Sharon is waiting for responses on Martin’s issue and pension matters.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to pay bills out of the General Funds Account totaling $8,686.61 and the State Account totaling $10,620.89. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:45 P.M. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.
