Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s Meeting

October 21, 2013

The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on October 21, 2013

All Supervisors were present.

Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.

Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved as read.

The Treasurer’s report was read and approved as read.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read the following reports. Dillsburg EMS responded to 127 calls for the month of September with 4 in Washington Township. Franklintown Fire Company responded to 27 calls for the month with 2 in the township. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 22 calls total for the month with 2 in the township. There was no report from East Berlin Fire Company.

Subdivision Plans:

There were no plans presented for the month.

Business from the Floor:

Residents Becky March and Darrin Russell from Kralltown Rd inquired why they can not get Comcast to go past their homes. It was explained to them how many homes need to be in an area for Comcast to run a line, but the Supervisors will contact Comcast to see if anything can be done. They advised Becky to get a petition with the names of the residents on Kralltown Rd that wants Comcast.

Old Business:

Supervisor Dan McGregor reported the 2014 Budget is available for inspection. Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to have the Secretary advertise the proposed budget. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion. The budget will be voted on at November’s meeting.

 

New Business:

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to have the Secretary advertise to appoint a certified public accounting firm to perform the 2013 audit. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to renew and sign the agreement for Mary Coble as QuickBooks Consultant. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to renew the 2014 York County SPCA at the same cost as last year of $1337.00. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Solicitor’s Report:

Solicitor Sharon Myers commented on the sample ordinances that were provided to the Supervisors last month.

She requested a brief executive meeting after tonight’s meeting.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to pay bills out of the General Funds Account totaling $3,690.59 and the State Account totaling $1,304.88. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:55 P.M. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr seconded the motion.
