The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on August 18, 2014.

All Supervisors were present.

Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.

Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved as read.

The Treasurer’s report was read and approved as read.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read the following reports. Dillsburg EMS responded to 143 calls for the month of July, 2 calls were in Washington Township. Franklintown Fire Company responded to 55 calls for the month with 3 in the township. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 10 calls with 2 in the township. East Berlin Fire Company provide June and July’s report. For the month of June the fire company responded to 18 calls, 4 were in the township. The ambulance responded to 61 calls with 6 in Washington Township. For the month of July the fire company responded to 46 calls, 6 were in the township and the ambulance responded to 82 calls, 7 were in the township.

Subdivision Plans:

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to approve the Subdivision plans as presented for Larry Morfoot; Parcel JD-29 on Anthony Rd. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion. Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to have the Secretary sign the Non-Building Waiver. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr seconded the motion.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to approve the Subdivision plans as presented for Homer Myers, Parcel MD-2A; Mount Top Rd. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion. Supervisor Dan McGregor made a motion to have the Secretary sign the Non-Building Waiver. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr seconded the motion.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to approve the Subdivision plans as presented for Justin Ferree, Parcel KD-20D; Myers Rd. Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion. Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to have the Secretary sign the Non-Building Waiver. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr seconded the motion.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to have the Secretary sign the Non-Building Waiver for Larry May’s Subdivision plans. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

Business from the Floor:

There was no Business from the Floor.

Old Business:

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to have the Solicitor advertise for the Ordinance to lower the speed limit on Kralltown Rd from Wellsville Rd to Myers Rd. from the existing 40 MPH to 30 MPH as per the results of the requested traffic study. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

New Business:

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to allow residence to review the plans for the replacement of County Bridge #221 over the Bermudian Creek at Bermudian Church RD and Detters Mill Rd for 1 month, before the Township submits their final comments. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion. Resident John Peters said his main concerns deal with conserving his trees where the bridge work will take place.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to approve Resolution 2014-02, to Opt-Out of the York County Regional Chesapeake Bay Pollutant Reduction Plan. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr seconded the motion. Washington Township is not an MS-4 municipality therefore it is not a requirement to participate and the cost would be $3,219.00 per year for the next 5 years for a total of $16,094.00.

Solicitor’s Report:

Leanne Miller represented Solicitor Sharon Myers, had nothing additional to add.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to pay the bills out of the General Funds Account totaling $ 6,455.74 and the State Account totaling $ 18,194.65. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:07 P.M. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.
