The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on January 19, 2015.

All Supervisors were present.

Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.

Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved as read.

The Treasurer’s report was read and approved as read.

Traci Cook with Dillsburg EMS gave the report for the month of December with 127 calls total and 1 call in the township. She also reported on the MIC Unit response since it has gone into effect. Paul Christophel, with West Shore EMS reported that Holy Spirit Health Systems is now affiliated with Geisinger. Traci also requested some box changes for the township. The Supervisors will review the changes.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read the following reports. Franklintown Fire Company responded to 24 calls for the month with 1 call in the township. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 9 calls with 1 in Washington Township. East Berlin Fire Company responded to 16 calls total with 3 in the township and the ambulance responded to 54 calls total and 7 were in the township.

Subdivision Plans:

There were no plans presented.

Business from the Floor:

Resident John Peters still requesting support from the supervisors on the bridge replacement project at his property.

Old Business:

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to adopted Ordinance 2015-01 as advertised, participation of the township in PSATS Unemployment Group Trust. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

New Business:

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to exonerate the Tax Collector from collecting unpaid per capita taxes for 2014. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Dan McGregor presented preliminary plans for the bridge replacement of County Bridge 233 on Bentz Mill Rd over the North Branch of Bermudian Creek.

Supervisor Dan McGregor also announced a Manure Management workshop at the York County Annex on February 24. Anyone who spreads manure on their property must have a plan.

Solicitor’s Report:

Solicitor Sharon Myers reported the new bid thresholds. Contracts or purchases greater than $10,500.00 and less than $19,400.00 require three telephone quotations. Contracts or purchases greater than $19,400.00 require the formal public bidding process. She also reported that all Tax Collectors must now have a Deputy Tax Collector appointed. Supervisor Dan McGregor made a motion to appoint Marcy Renshaw, from Warrington Township as Washington Township’s Deputy Tax Collector. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to pay the bills out of the General Funds Account totaling $5,731.57 and the State Account totaling $2,179.75. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:50 P.M. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.
