The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on July 18, 2016.

All Supervisors were present.

Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.

Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved as read.

The Treasurer’s report was read and approved as read.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read the following reports. Dillsburg EMS responded to 137 calls for the month of June, 6 calls were in Washington Township. Franklintown Fire Company responded to 24 calls for the month with 2 in the township. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 9 calls total and none were in Washington Township. East Berlin Fire Company responded to 16 calls and 1 was in the township. The ambulance responded to 72 calls and 5 were in the township.

Subdivision Plans:

There were no plans presented.

Business from the Floor:

Resident Sheila Frey presented a proposal to the Supervisors for an Events Venue at the property located at 2015 Ridge Rd. East Berlin. The proposal is for a small business that would host weddings, reunions etc. on the property, which would included using the existing barn and gardens. Solicitor Devon Myers stated she would need a Variance for 2 principal uses on the property and a Special Exception for Special Events. The Supervisors suggested waiting until the new ordinances go in to effect which will address this issue under Agri-entertainment.

Old Business:

There was no old business to discuss.

New Business:

Fall Clean-up date is scheduled for Wednesday & Thursday, October 5 & 6 from 8:00-3:30.

Solicitor’s Report:

Solicitor Devon Myers discussed the comments from York County Planning Commission on changes for Zoning and the SALDO. The changes are definitions for a lot and echo housing also transfer of building rights. The Solicitor will advertise for amendments to be voted on at next month’s meeting.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to pay the bills out of the General Funds Account totaling $5,689.31 and the State Account totaling $8,016.71. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:47 P.M. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.
