The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on December 19, 2016.

All Supervisors were present.

Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.

Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved as read.

The Treasurer’s report was read and approved as read.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read the following reports. Dillsburg EMS responded to 128 calls total for the month of November with 7 calls being in Washington Township. Citizen’s Hose/Franklintown Fire Company responded to 42 calls for the month with 2 in the township. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 15 calls and 1 was in the township. East Berlin Fire Company responded to 23 calls with 3 in the township and the ambulance responded to 68 calls total and 4 were in the township.

Subdivision Plans:

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to approve the final subdivision plans for the Pakenhams on Pine Woods Rd, as presented. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.

Property owner Wayne Trostle was present to ask questions about subdividing a 99 acre property on Kralltown Rd. The Supervisors told him he first needs to attend Washington Township’s Planning Commission meeting with his proposal.

Business from the Floor:

Resident Caroll Myers voiced her concerns about Creek Rd being closed at the end of Rt 194, when the bridge construction is taking place. Her main concern is for EMS not having access and the delay it will cause for response time. Supervisor Dan McGregor informed her that was their concern when they first met to discuss the bridge work, but they were told they could not keep Creek Rd opened. Supervisor Jeff Propps will contact State Representative Mike Regan to discuss the issue with him.

Old Business:

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to approve Resolution 2016-07 setting the tax rates for 2017 at the same rate as they were for 2016. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

New Business:

The Supervisors set the 2017 Reorganizational Meeting for January 3, 2017 at 3:30 P.M.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to renew PSATS Membership for 2017 at the same cost of

$1,112.00. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

Supervisor Dan McGregor presented insurance information to the Supervisors to review, perhaps switching from Penn National if the coverage is the same and they also issue a dividend. The Secretary will verify coverage and question why no dividend check was received for this past year.

Solicitor’s Report:

Solicitor Sharon Myers had nothing additional to add.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to pay bills out of the General Funds Account totaling $7,693.33 and the State Account totaling $266.46. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.
