The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on January 17, 2022.

Supervisors Dan McGregor and Ralph McGregor were present.

Supervisor Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. with the Pledge of allegiance to the Flag.

Chairman Dan McGregor made a motion to approve the 2022 Reorganizational Minutes after they show amendments that were made for the Zoning Officer’s wages. They were changed to $15.50 an hour and also the Zoning Hearing Board changed to show Rick Riddle as a member and Michael Steinke as the alternate member. Before a second was made Zoning Officer, Karen Riddle questioned if her hours will be changed now or in the future. Supervisor Dan McGregor stated they would not. Supervisor Ralph McGregor then seconded the motion.

Supervisor Ralph McGregor made a motion to approve the minutes from December as read.

Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.

Supervisor Dan McGregor made a motion to approve the Treasure’s report as read and to be filed for audit. Supervisor Ralph McGregor seconded the motion.

Supervisor Dan McGregor gave the following reports. For the month of December, Penn State Health Life Lion EMS responded to 211 calls, 10 calls were in Washington Township. They covered 9 of the 10 calls. Northern York County Fire Rescue EMS responded to 60 calls total with 2 in the township. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 31 calls for the month of December, 3 were in the township. For the year 2021 they responded to 371 calls, 27 were in Washington Township. Northeast Adams Fire & EMS responded to 49 calls for the month of December, 3 were in the Township. For 2021, they had 435 calls total and 40 of them were in the Township.

Subdivision Plans:

Surveyor Todd Lyons presented plans, stating he is superseding the Planning Commission’s approval because of members individual opinions. The plans are for 161 Blue Hill School Rd. parcel KD-16A. The plans separates the parcel by using the center of the township road. 10 acres on the west side will be a separate parcel with a building right and the remaining area behind it as an add-on to Parcel KD-16. It cannot be a stand-alone parcel. He stated all comments and issues were addressed. After reviewing the plans, Supervisor Ralph McGregor made a motion to approve the plans as presented. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.

Business from the Floor:

Wellsville Fire Company President, Sandy Brown introduced herself to the Supervisors and residents that were present. She provided a draft copy of December’s Meeting Minutes and discussed training, fund raisers and the possible hiring of paid staff during daytime hours, when there is a shortage of volunteers. Supervisor Dan McGregor commended Wellsville Fire Company on their annual carnival. Northeast Adams Fire Company’s new Chief, Cory Lease introduced himself also.

Old Business:

The Cohen Group provided information for reviewing the Comcast Agreement. Supervisors will review the packet provided.

New Business:

Supervisor Ralph McGregor made a motion to exonerate the Tax Collector from collecting unpaid per capita taxes for 2021. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.

Solicitor’s Report:

Solicitor Sharon Myers informed Supervisors of the 2022 bid limits for purchases. Purchases or Contracts over $21,900 require advertisements, over $11,800 to $21,900 require three written or telephone quotes.

Supervisor Ralph McGregor asked several questions regarding Solar Farms. Solicitor Myers will provide the Supervisors with the latest information on ordinances for Solar Farms.

Supervisor Dan McGregor made a motion to pay the bills out of the General Funds Account totaling $1,795.80 and the State Account totaling $5,656.38. Supervisor Ralph McGregor seconded the motion.

Supervisor Ralph McGregor made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:41 P.M. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.
