The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on February 21, 2022.

All Supervisors were present.

Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

Supervisor Ralph McGregor made a motion to approve the January minutes.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

The Treasurer’s report was read. Supervisor Dan McGregor made a motion to approved the report as read and file for audit. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read the following reports. Northern York County Fire Rescue EMS responded to 58 calls for the month of January, 2 were in the Washington Township. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 42 calls for the month, 6 were in the Township. Northeast Adams Fire & EMS responded to 41 calls and 4 were in the Township.

Subdivision Plans:

There were no subdivision plans.

Business from the Floor:

Residents Don & Beth Miller had questions regarding the property at 473 Kralltown Rd that is listed as a commercial property for sale. Solicitor Sharon Myers discussed options and advised Mr. Miller that he will need to apply for a special exception through a zoning hearing, if he would like to purchase the property to move his current business there. There were previous hearings for the business and the apartment that are currently there.

Wellsville Fire Company President, Sandy Brown, presented the Supervisors with the latest minutes from the Fire Company. She also informed them of an upcoming meeting with Warrington Twp Supervisors regarding an increase in funding.

Resident Caroll Myers asked if a crime page could be added to the Township’s website. The Supervisors are not interested in supplying that information because of not being accurate.

Old Business:

The Supervisors discussed the information from Attorney Daniel Cohen for a York County Consortium, for the renewal of the Comcast Agreement. They would like the Secretary to set up a time to talk with Mr. Cohen and also the representative with Comcast. Solicitor Myers reminded them of the March 31, 2022 deadline to join the Consortium.

New Business:

Supervisor Ralph McGregor made a motion to set the dates for Spring Clean-Up for Wednesday and Thursday, April 27th & 28th from 7:00 until 3:30 and Saturday, April 30th, 8:00 until 12:00. They will be closed Friday. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.

Solicitor’s Report:

Solicitor Sharon Myers stated she recently did an online seminar on Solar Farms. She will provide the information for Supervisor Ralph McGregor. She will also provide a draft copy of a Solar & Wind Ordinance.

Supervisor Dan McGregor made a motion to pay the bills out of the General Funds Account totaling $19,622.56 and the State Account totaling $6,515.30. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:41 P.M. Supervisor Ralph McGregor. seconded the motion.
