The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on May 16, 2022.

All Supervisors were present.

Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

Supervisor Ralph McGregor made a motion to approve the April 18th minutes as presented. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

The Treasurer’s report was read and approved by Supervisor Dan McGregor to be filed for audit. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read the following reports. Penn State Health Life Lion EMS had a total of 152 dispatches for the month of April. 5 were in Washington Township, 2 were managed by Penn State. Northern York County Fire Rescue EMS responded to 34 calls in April, none were in the Township. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 25 calls, 2 were in the Township. Northeast Adams Fire & EMS responded to 23 calls in April, 2 were in the Township.

Wellsville Fire Company President, Sandy Brown, provided the Supervisors with the latest minutes from the Fire Company and profit and loss reports. She also provided the Carnival work date schedule. All volunteers are welcome! The Fire Company is currently working on the raffle tickets if anyone is interested in donations.

Assistant Fire Chief of Northern York County Fire Rescue, Keith Kuykendal, was present and reported that 3 of their municipalities have agreed to assisting with paid personnel. Details will be made available in the near future.

Subdivision Plans:

Neither Surveyor Todd Lyons or property owners Jared and Carmen Witmer were present to discuss building rights for their parcels LD-35 & LD-44J, on the Wellsville RD. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. read the minutes from the June 15, 1987 Board of Supervisors Minutes when LD-44 J was approved for subdivision. The minutes state that the parcel was approved to be an add-on to LD-35.

Business from the Floor:

There was no business from the floor.

Old Business:

There was no old business to discuss.

New Business:

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr made a motion to approve the yearly Fire Company Agreement with Northeast Adams Fire & Rescue Company. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read the notice from Representative Dawn Keefer’s Office for a damaged license plate event that will be held on June 2 from 4-6:30 p.m. This is a free drive-thru event to replace damaged license plates. It will be held at 32 Big Dam Rd., in the Township. RSVP should be made at Dawn Keefer’s Office, 717-432-0792.

Supervisor Dan McGregor also read the information from York County Area Agency on Aging for Seniors Farmers Market Vouchers. Applications are available on their website.

Solicitor’s Report:

Solicitor Sharon Myers had nothing additional to discuss.

Supervisor Dan McGregor made a motion to pay the bills out of the General Funds Account totaling $19,160.65 and the State Account totaling $7,401.52. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:15 P.M. Supervisor Ralph McGregor seconded the motion.
