The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on March 20, 2023.

All Supervisors were present.

Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to approve the February minutes. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

The Treasurer’s report was read and a motion to approve and to be filed for audit was made by Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read the following reports. Penn State Health Life Lion EMS responded to 210 calls for the month of January. 7 of those were calls in Washington Twp. 5 were handled by Penn State. For the month of February, they had 173 calls, 9 calls in Washington Township. 7 of the calls were managed by Penn State. Northern York County Fire Rescue EMS responded to 41 calls for the month and there were 3 calls in the Township. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 32 calls, and 3 were in the Township. Northeast Adams Fire & EMS had 33 calls for February and 3 of those were in Washington Twp. Wellsville Fire Company President, Sandy Brown provided the Supervisors with the latest meeting minutes and updates on current fundraisers. She also reported the Fire Company will be assisting the Pinchot Park Lions Club with an Easter Egg hunt on April 8th at Pinchot Park. Assistant Fire Chief of Northern York County Fire Rescue, Keith Kuykendal reported on all the training that is currently being provided, which some includes neighboring fire departments.

There were no plans presented.

Business from the Floor:

There was no business from the floor.

Old Business:

Supervisor Dan McGregor reminded residents that Spring Clean-Up will be Wednesday and Thursday April 19th & 20th from 7:00 A.M. until 3:30 P.M. and Saturday April 22nd , 8:00 until 12:00. No Friday hours.

New Business:

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to have the Secretary advertise for bids for various stones, road oil, hot mix black top, E-3 emulsions, and fuels. Bids will be opened at next months’ meeting on April 17th around 7:15 P.M. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to adopt Resolution 2023-02 in Support of PA Underground Utility Line Protection Law and proclaim April as Pa Safe Digging Month. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to adopt Resolution 2023-03, Corporate Authorization adding Jeffrey Propps name to ACNB accounts. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson Jr. made a motion to appoint Travis Sherman to the Washington Township Planning Commission. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

Supervisor Dan McGregor reminded residents that Ag Security applications are due in the office by June 1st.

Solicitor’s Report:

Solicitor Sharon Myers stated she is working on several enforcement issues. She also advised the Supervisors to review the Solar Farms Ordinance she provided. This is a very hot topic right now and should be addressed.

Supervisor Dan McGregor made a motion to pay the bills out of the General Funds Account totaling $21,804.86 and the State Account totaling $5,589.12 Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:16 P.M. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.
