The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on September 19, 2011.

All Supervisors were present.

Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.

Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved as read.

The Treasurer’s report was read and approved as read.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read the following reports. Dillsburg EMS responded to 124 calls for the month of August with 6 in Washington Township. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 14 calls for the month of July with 1 in the township and for the month of August, 13 calls with 2 in the township. East Berlin Fire Company responded to 23 calls for the month of July with 2 in the township and 19 calls for the month of August with 5 in the township. East Berlin Ambulance responded to 58 calls for the month of July with 5 in the township and for the month of August they responded to 65 calls total with 10 in the township. There was no report from Franklintown Fire Company.

There was no subdivision plans presented.

There was no business from the floor.

Old Business:

Supervisor Dan McGregor reminded residents that the Fall Clean-up will be October 6 from 8:00 until 3:30.

Solicitor Sharon Myers reported on updated information for the Ordinance from York Adams County Earned Income Tax. A few changes will be made in the near future, but she will have a copy ready for next month’s meeting and then it will need to be advertised before adoption.

Solicitor Sharon Myers reported on her meeting with engineers and the York County Planning Commission in regards to the County’s Storm Water Ordinance. One of the main concerns is the conservation plan needed. Supervisor Jeff Propps will be meeting on Wednesday with County to review the township’s ordinance updates and he will address this issue at that time. The township is working toward being in compliance with this ordinance.

New Business:

The Supervisors choose the week of December 11-17 for the township resident’s discount for “Christmas Magic” at Rocky Ridge Park. There is no charge for the township to participate and residents can download the coupon off the website for the discount or pick-up at the township office.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to renew the SPCA contract after a brief discussion. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read a letter from PSATS in regards to a Statement of Support for American Soldiers serving in the National Guard and Reserve. No action was taken since none of the township’s employees serve in the Guard or Reserve.

The date for the 2012 Budget Preparation meeting was set for October 12, at 9:00 A.M.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion for Township Officials to attend the York County Association of 2nd Class Township Convention on November 10. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

Supervisor Dan McGregor asked the Solicitor if they need a traffic study done to put a stop sign on Bross Drive. She told them to check there plans first to see if it was originally on them.

Solicitor’s Report:

Solicitor Sharon Myers had nothing additional to discuss.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to pay the bills as presented. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.
