The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on October 17, 2011.

All Supervisors were present.

Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.

Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved as read.

The Treasurer’s report was read and approved as read.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read the following reports. Dillsburg EMS responded to 111 calls for the month of September with 3 in Washington Township. Franklintown Fire Company report was for August and September. They responded to 23 calls for both months with 3 calls in the township.

Wellsville Fire Company responded to 22 calls for the month of September with 2 in the township. There was no report from East Berlin Fire Company.

There was no subdivision plans presented.

There was no business from the floor.

Old Business:

Supervisor Jeff Propps reported that Terry Ruby is doing the preliminary review of the township’s updated ordinances at county. Jeff is reviewing her work and will continue to work towards including the county’s stormwater ordinance into the updated ordinances.

Supervisor Dan McGregor gave a report on the proposed 2012 Budget. Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion for the secretary to advertise the budget for inspection, before the November meeting. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Solicitor Sharon Myers provided an updated version of the ordinance known as Washington Township Earned Income and Net Profits Tax Ordinance based on the model provided by York Area Tax Bureau.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion for the solicitor to advertise the ordinance, so it can be considered for adoption at November’s meeting. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.

New Business:

Supervisor Dan McGregor made a motion to cancel the Planning Commission’s meeting in November, due to the election. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion for the secretary to advertise to appoint a certified public accountant at the December’s meeting, to perform the 2011 annual audit. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.

Supervisor Dan McGregor informed residents of drop-off locations for phone book recycling.

Supervisor Jeff Propps advised residents that as of today FEMA announced that York County will be approved for public assistance due to damages from Tropical Storm Lee.

Supervisor Propps ask the solicitor if the township must notify a homeowner when there is a fire to their property, about the township’s Fire Insurance Escrow Ordinance. She said that normally the insurance company is supposed to contact the municipality, but if the township does not hear from them, they should send a letter to the homeowner about the ordinance.

Solicitor’s Report:

Solicitor Sharon Myers had nothing additional to discuss.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to pay the bills as presented. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:50 P.M. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.
