The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on November 21, 2011.

All Supervisors were present.

Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.

Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved as read.

The Treasurer’s report was read and approved as read.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read the following reports. Dillsburg EMS responded to 140 calls for the month of October with 7 in Washington Township. Franklintown Fire Company responded to 41 calls for the month with 2 calls in the township. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 30 calls total with 3 in the township. There was no report from East Berlin Fire Company.

There was no subdivision plans presented.

There was no business from the floor.

Old Business:

Supervisor Jeff Propps reported that the zoning ordinance updates are still being reviewed and will continue to work towards including the county’s stormwater ordinance into the updated ordinances.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to adopt the 2012 Budget. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to adopt Ordinance 2011-02 known as Washington Township Earned Income and Net Profits Tax Ordinance with the proposed changes on pages noted to Solicitor, referring to gender. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

New Business:

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to Sign Fire Company Agreements and send them out to the Fire Companies. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

Solicitor’s Report:

Solicitor Sharon Myers reported on a meeting she attended related to the County’s Stormwater Management updates. There are a few changes being made to the draft copy. Small projects could use a standard set of specs to save the applicant money. She reminded the Supervisors they need to appoint a CPA to replace the elected Auditors. They verified that the Legal Notice was advertised and the Resolution will be ready for December’s meeting. She also informed them the Reorganizational Meeting must be held on January 3, 2012. She presented the Supervisors with a packet of information related to the Kralltown School. She said it is very important to check any deed restrictions that may apply when the school closed.

Resident Caroll Myers asked if the Washington Township Education Coalition needs a permit to put signs up pertaining to this matter. After researching the Ordinances by Zoning Officer Karen Riddle and Solicitor Sharon Myers, and a brief discussion, Supervisor Jeff Propps stated no permit was required.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to pay the bills as presented. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:55 P.M. Supervisor Harlen Anderson Jr. seconded the motion.
