The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on November 18, 2013.
All Supervisors were present.
Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.
Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
The Treasurer’s report was read and approved as read.
Supervisor Dan McGregor read the following reports. Dillsburg EMS responded to 132 calls for the month of October with 5 in Washington Township. Franklintown Fire Company responded to 27 calls for the month with 1 in the township. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 12 calls total for the month with 1 in the township. East Berlin Fire Company responded to 30 calls with 4 in the township. The ambulance responded to 81 calls which 7 were in the township.
Subdivision Plans:
There were no plans presented for the month.
Business from the Floor:
Residents Becky March and Darrin Russell from Kralltown Rd inquired what action took place with Comcast since last month’s meeting and after submitting a petition from residents on Kralltown Rd and Ridge Rd, who want to connect to Comcast. The township is waiting to hear back from Comcast because they said there were only 6 homes in the area that were interested.
Old Business:
Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to adopt the 2014 Budget as presented with no tax increase. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.
Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to adopt Resolution 2013-04, appointing Smith Elliot Kearns & Company to replace the elected auditors to perform the 2013 audit in 2014.
Supervisor Dan McGregor reminded residents that Washington Township will be participating in the Festival of Lights at Rocky Ridge Park again this year. Coupons are available at the office or on the website.
New Business:
Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. reported that he contacted Latimore Township, since their recent fire and offered help. The road crew will help them when Latimore officials call him.
Solicitor’s Report:
Solicitor Sharon Myers mentioned the nuisance and weed sample ordinances that were provided to the Supervisors. She also provided information for a Right-to-Know seminar being held at her York office on January 29.
Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to pay bills out of the General Funds Account totaling $9,731.98 and the State Account totaling $1,764.38. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.
