The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on May 19, 2014.
All Supervisors were present.
Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.
Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
The Treasurer’s report was read and approved as read.
Supervisor Dan McGregor read the following reports. Dillsburg EMS responded to 115 calls for the month of April, of the 115 calls, 5 were in Washington Township. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 15 calls in April with 2 in the township. East Berlin Fire Company also responded to 15 calls for the month and 2 were in the township. The ambulance responded to 42 calls in April and 4 were in the township. Franklintown Fire Company did not provide a report for the month.
Subdivision Plans:
Larry Morfoot, who owns property at 993 Anthony Rd, presented information to subdivide his 65 acre property. He wants 10 acres to stay with the homestead so that parcel can stay in Clean & Green and the remaining 55 acres for Agricultural use only. He is aware that there would not be any building rights available for the 55 acres. 22 acres are currently in the CREP Program, but all will be out by 2017. He wants to have buyers for the property before he goes through the subdivision process. The Supervisors had no problem with his plans under these stipulations.
Business from the Floor:
Resident John Peters of 298 Bermudian Church Rd presented information and concerns in regards to the bridge replacement at his property. Supervisor Jeff Propps will contact the York County Planning Commission for more details, since this is a county bridge and get back to Mr. Peters with the information.
Resident Susanne Sardino of 2138 Baltimore Pike questions the Supervisors about building a detached garage and using part of it for an in-law quarters. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. will have the Zoning Officer research the issue and get back to her.
Old Business:
Supervisor Dan McGregor informed residents of the June 1st deadline for Ag Security Applications to be turned into the Township Office.
New Business:
Supervisor Dan McGregor read the information provided to the township for senior resident’s eligibility for a $20.00 Farmers Market Voucher. He also announced the re-opening of the Dillsburg Farmers Market for the summer.
Solicitor’s Report:
Solicitor Sharon Myers presented Resolution 2014-01 Traffic Sign Management Method that was adopted at April’s meeting for required signatures. She had nothing else new to report.
Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to pay the bills out of the General Funds Account totaling $ 4,870.20 and the State Account totaling $ 11,104.34. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.
