The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on January 21, 2013

All Supervisors were present.

Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.

Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved with one correction made by the Solicitor that litigation is pending not future.

The Treasurer’s report was read and approved as read.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read the following reports. Dillsburg EMS responded to 99 calls for the month of December with 4 in Washington Township. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 21 calls for the month with 1 in the township. Year to date report shows a total of 15 calls in the township. Fire Chief Mike Whitzel of Franklintown Fire Company reported 26 calls for the month with 2 in the township. The year to date report shows 16 calls in the township. There was no report from East Berlin Fire Company.

Subdivision Plans:

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion for the Secretary to sign the Non-Building Waiver for Terry Ford’s subdivision plan. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.

Business from the Floor:

Resident Donald Wyrick of 68 Brittany Lane questioned the Supervisors on the requirements needed to establish a business at his residence to do background checks for fire arms being bought. He would like to use an existing building. After a discussion with the Solicitor she informed him to apply for a Special Exception. The Supervisors stated the cost would be $600.00. He was advised by the Zoning Officer to attend the next Planning Commission meeting with the same information as a required step in the procedure.

Old Business:

On the updated zoning ordinances, Solicitor Myers would like to set a time to meet with the Supervisors to go over her comments for the draft ordinances.

 

New Business:

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to exonerate the Tax Collector from collecting 2012 unpaid per capita taxes. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read the new electronic recycling information from York County Solid Waste Authority. It included the list of covered items and drop-off locations. Warrington Township would be the closest location for Washington Township residents.

Solicitor’s Report:

Solicitor Sharon Myers had nothing additional to report.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to pay the bills as presented. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:59 P.M. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.
