The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on August 17, 2015.

All Supervisors were present.

Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.

Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved as read.

The Treasurer’s report was read and approved as read.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read the following reports. Dillsburg EMS responded to 126 calls for the month of July, 4 calls were in Washington Township. Franklintown Fire Company responded to 28 calls for the month, none were in the township. Wellsville Fire Company supplied the report for June, they responded to 19 calls with 1 in the township. July’s report they responded to 17 calls and 1 was in the township. East Berlin responded to 16 calls in July, 2 were in the township. The ambulance responded to 55 calls, 9 were in the township.

Subdivision Plans:

There were no plans presented.

Business from the Floor:

Resident John Peters updated the Supervisors on his recent letter concerning the bridge replacement at his property. They will be acquiring some of his yard temporarily and some permanently. They will be making the bridge 4’ wider in case the township ever wants to make the road wider. He said they are going to trim the tree and pile ground around the base. He is concerned what will happen when there is a flood. He will continue with his legal crusade.

Old Business:

Supervisor Dan McGregor reminded resident of the Fall Clean-up on September 30 and October 1 from 8:00 until 3:30.

New Business:

Supervisor Dan McGregor made a motion to contact York County Planning to have a traffic study done on Pine Ridge Rd at the request of several residents. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr, seconded the motion.

Solicitor’s Report:

Solicitor Sharon Myers reported she has submitted the Township’s existing Floodplain Ordinance to be reviewed by DCED. Any changes will need to be made prior to the December 16, 2015 deadline to comply with the new flood maps.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to pay the bills out of the General Funds Account totaling $ 4,723.18 and the State Account totaling $ 13,025.71. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.
