The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on March 15, 2021.

All Supervisors were present.

Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to approve the February minutes as read. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion

The Treasurer’s report was read and a motion to approve and to be filed for audit was made by Supervisor Dan McGregor. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read the following reports. Penn State Health Life Lion EMS responded to 149 calls for the month of February with 5 calls in Washington Township. Northern York County Fire Rescue EMS responded to 28 calls for the month and there were no calls in the Township. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 27 calls and none were in the Township. Northeast Adams Fire & EMS responded to 25 calls, 2 were in the Township. The ambulance responded to 95 calls total and 5 were in the Township.

Subdivision Plans:

There were no plans presented.

Business from the Floor:

Lieutenant Joseph Spingler with PA State Police gave a yearly report on police responses in Washington Township. He noted no significant changes. There were 38 crashes, 17 welfare checks, 7 thefts and numerous other calls.

Old Business:

Supervisor Dan McGregor reminded residents that Spring Clean-Up will be Wednesday and Thursday April 28, & 29 from 8:00 A.M. until 3:30 P.M. and Saturday May 1, 8:00 until 12:00. No Friday hours.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to award the bid for E-3 emulsion for pick-up to Specialty Emulsion for $2.29 a gallon. Supervisor Ralph McGregor seconded the motion. This was the only bid received.

New Business:

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to have the Secretary advertise for bids for various stones, road oil, hot mix black top and fuels. Bids will be opened at next months’ meeting on April 19

around 7:15 P.M. Supervisor Ralph McGregor seconded the motion.

Supervisor Dan McGregor reminded residents that Ag Security applications are due in the office by June 1st.

The Supervisors reviewed information from York County Planning, Tax Assessment and Recorder of Deeds for two processes to correct certain real estate issues that need corrected. The CAP process (Corrective Action Process) involves land ownership between two different parcel owners. The COM process (Common Ownership Merger) is when the same owner of multiple parcels wishes to combine then into a single parcel. The review fee is set at $250.00. If implemented, it would begin in April of 2021. Solicitor Sharon Myers will check if a resolution is needed for final approval of these procedures. Also, she will check to see if the Township needs to set a fee to be paid to the Township.

Information for the York County COVID-19 vaccine website was provided to the residents. It will be on the bulletin boards and the Township’s website.

Solicitor’s Report:

Solicitor Sharon Myers had nothing additional to discuss.

Supervisor Dan McGregor made a motion to pay the bills out of the General Funds Account totaling $3,274.61 and the State Account totaling $3,891.97. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.
