The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on July 17, 2023.

All Supervisors were present.

Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

Supervisor Jeff Propps made a motion to approve the June 19th minutes as presented. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

The Treasurer’s report was read and approved by Supervisor Dan McGregor to be filed for audit. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read the following EMS reports. Penn State Health Life Lion EMS responded to 177 calls for the month of May, 6 were in Washington Township, 4 were handled by Penn State. For the month of June, they had 174 calls , 5 were in Washington Twp and they were all handled by Penn State. Northern York County Fire Rescue EMS responded to 45 calls in June, 3 were in the Township. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 31 calls, 4 were in the Township. Northeast Adams Fire & EMS responded to 42 calls for the month, 5 were in the Township.

Wellsville Fire Company Assistant Chief, Vince Brown, provided the Supervisors with the latest minutes from the Fire Company and carnival information. He also informed the Supervisors that the Fire Company has ordered a new rescue truck. Supervisor Dan McGregor stated that each fire company will get an additional $5,000.00 this year when the fire company agreements are signed and returned. This money will come out of the ARPA funds that the Township received.

Subdivision Plans:

There were no plans presented.

Business from the Floor:

Resident Craig Hoffheins, asked what could be done about the heavy truck traffic on Bermudian Church Rd.

Supervisor Dan McGregor informed him that signs were ordered that say no trucks over 45’ permitted on that road. As soon as they arrive the Road Crew will install them. Hopefully, that will help with the problem.

Old Business:

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr made a motion to have the Secretary advertise for a public hearing for the Comcast Cable Franchise Renewal Agreement, for August’s meeting. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.

Solicitor Sharon Myers has approved the Letter of Credit for 776 Baker’s Watering Trough Rd. She stated that their 90 days of conditional approval for the Land Development Plan will be up in August. She advised the Secretary to contact them about the time frame.

New Business:

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to set the Fall Clean-Up Dates as follows; Thursday September 21st from 8:00 until 3:30 and Saturday September 23rd from 8:00 until 12:00. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to approve the Fire Protection Agreement with Wellsville Fire Company. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to pay the bill for the new Galion dump body for the new International truck from the ARPA funds. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

Solicitor’s Report:

Solicitor Sharon Myers stated that the execution of the Stephens’s property on Ridge Rd is moving forward. She will keep the Supervisors informed of any development.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to pay the bills out of the General Funds Account totaling

$11,490.53 and the State Account totaling $40,256.36. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:49 P.M. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.
