The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on December 18, 2023

All Supervisors were present.

Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to approve the November 20^th minutes as presented. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

The Treasurer’s report was read. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report as read and to be filed for audit. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read the following reports. Northern York County Fire Rescue EMS responded to 40 calls for the month of November, 4 were in Washington Township. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 26 calls for the month with 4 in the Township. Northeast Adams Fire & EMS responded to 27 calls, 5 were in the Township.

Wellsville Fire Company Assistant Chief, Vince Brown, presented the latest meeting minutes and financial reports. He reported on Breakfast with Santa, paid drivers are scheduled to soon start, and a Craft Fair is scheduled for February.

Subdivision Plans:

Plans were presented for Terry Ford- Parcel LD-31C. The subdivision is for an add on to Parcel LD-31B. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to approve the plans. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to have the Secretary sign the Non-building Waiver. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

Business from the Floor:

State Police Trooper Thomas Wright was present to give an updated report on activities in Washington Township since February of 2023. Majority of the calls are non-criminal, crashes, DUI, and warrants. Speed on RT 194 is always discussed.

Old Business:

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to adopt Resolution 2023-04, appointing Smith Elliot Kerns & Co. to perform the 2023 audit, replacing the elected auditors, as advertised. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.

New Business:

Supervisor Dan McGregor made a motion to adopt Resolution 2023-05, taxes for Per Capita, Transfer and Real Estate for 2024. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr seconded the motion.

The Reorganizational Meeting for January 2, 2024 was set for 1:00 P.M.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to appoint Jennifer Stefanik to fill the vacant Auditors position for 2 years. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.

Solicitor’s Report:

Solicitor Sharon Myers had nothing additional to discuss.

Supervisor Dan McGregor made a motion to pay the bills out of the General Funds Account totaling $8,970.67 and the State Account totaling $3,559.64 Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:19 P. M. Supervisor Jeff Propps seconded the motion.
